Golden Yearlings (12-36 months)

The growth stage of yearlings from 12 to 36 months is as important as the first year. If foals were incorrectly fed during their first year of life, regarding mainly the intake of proteins, vitamins and minerals, these nutritional flaws should be addressed when feeding yearlings during their next stage.

It is at this stage when the articular and musculoskeletal systems of yearlings are finally consolidated, determining future physical and/or sporting performance in different specialties. But it is also when certain nutritional needs, regarding mainly the intake of minerals, become extremely important. Digestibility and diet balance must be optimal and, as in earlier stages, the right amount of quality nutrients should be supplied in a balanced way, in order to avoid problems, such as vesicles, injuries affecting the structure and consistence of hooves, joints, tendons, etc.

By feeding our horses with GOLDEN YEARLINGS (12-36 MONTHS) feed in daily doses of 2.5 to 3kg in two meals, together with good quality hay and/or fodder in sufficient quantities (essential in any horse diet), all the above-mentioned quality nutrients will be supplied in the right balance, facilitating digestibility, and ensuring that their digestive tract functionality will not be altered during this stage.

FEEDING DIRECTIONS

For yearlings 12-36 months-old, supply from 2.5 to 3 kg in 1 or 2 daily meals together with quality hay. If you want to use alfalfa at this stage, please ask our technical support service. As yearlings grow, feed intake will be steady, but hay/stalk intake will grow.
