Golden Mares

Often we do not sufficiently value the importance of mare nutrition, not only regarding fertility, ovulation and pregnancy, but also in passing on specific physical and psychological attributes to offspring. Many of these attributes are present in the diet of pregnant and lactating mares, if this diet includes essential amino acids, available energy, digestible minerals and vitamins, etc. Only then will we achieve the maximum genetic potential of foals. The components needed are not available in sufficient quantity or in the right balance in the food that grazing mares regularly eat in mountains or natural or artificial grasslands/pastures, nor in stubble, hay, cereal or other animal feed. So we should include them ourselves in the food supplied to mares, whether they are empty, pregnant or lactating.

Only with a controlled feeding will we get similar or even superior offspring, when compared with their parents. Therefore, nutrition is a key element when developing planned breeding programs for future specimens.

Our GOLDEN MARES feed, in different daily doses, together with quality and adequately abundant hay and fodder, will allow for a successful breeding program.
