Golden Keeping Fit

Resting periods after physical activity are very important for the future sport performance of horses. Muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments, hooves and general metabolism should all be kept fit and healthy in order to minimize the adjustment period when we resume physical training, as well as, most importantly, to minimize or eliminate the impact of musculoskeletal injuries: myositis, tendinitis, quarter cracks, multiple sourced claudication, liver with diminished metabolic capacities (lactate metabolism), kidney dehydration, pancreas (critical during digestion), adequate hematopoietic system values (red blood cells), etc.

An adequate diet at this stage allows for a full replenishment of the horse’s muscle glycogen supplies and intramuscular fat, as well as a normalization and repair of a potentially altered general metabolism vulnerable to continuous stress conditions and high levels of muscle metabolic activity.

Our GOLDEN KEEPING FIT feed is capable of achieving these goals during the so-called maintenance periods. By feeding the horse approximately 2 kg daily in a single meal, together with good quality hay (6 to 8 kg per day), we can meet the above-mentioned needs and ensure future sport performance and health.

FEEDING DIRECTIONS

For horses during maintenance/resting periods, supply from 2.5 to 3 kg in 1 or 2 daily meals together with quality hay/stalk.
